Adam McDaid is a cinematographer whose work spans award-winning feature films, television series, commercials, documentaries and music videos. He earned his MFA in cinematography at the American Film Institute and has since shot stories across genres and continents, bringing equal parts craft and curiosity to each project.

Adam’s latest feature, Bilyarista, is a gritty, character-driven drama set in the shadowy world of billiards and underground gambling, shot on location in Manila. The film maDE its North American debut at the 2026 Newport Beach Film Festival. Adam also recently shot The Boy Who Stole Billions? — a new documentary series from director Nanette Burstein that premieres at the 2026 DOC NYC Festival and begins streaming on Amazon Prime Video in November.

ON THE TV SIDE, Adam shot two Freeform series — Single Drunk Female, named one of The New York Times’ best TV shows of 2023 and Everything’s Trash. His other credits include the Netflix documentary series Killer Sally, HBO’s Pause with Sam Jay and the Peacock documentary series John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise. Among his proudest achievements is Here Alone, winner of the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.

Adam lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two cats. When he’s not behind the camera, he’s out shooting street photography or continuing his hunt for NYC’s best slice.
